Mrs. Kari Abrams
Clara Love Elementary First Grade Teacher
Tell us something about yourself?
My name is Mrs. Abrams! This is my 10th year teaching! I love teaching first graders! I grew up all over Texas and went to Stephan F. Austin State University. I have lived in DFW for 7 years. I am married to my best friend Mark. I do not have children of my own, but I do have 3 wonderful step children. I love reading, hanging out with my best friend Diane, and shopping!
What dreams do you have for the future?
My dream for the future is to begin working on my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at SFA.
Who was your role model when you were a kid and why?
My role model when I was young was my second grade teacher Mrs. Counts. I struggled when it came to reading and she tutored me in her home afterschool. I wanted to be a teacher just like her!
When you were in elementary school did you have a favorite subject?
I didn’t have a favorite subject, but I loved everything about school. I would always cry on the last day before summer break because I didn’t want the year to end. I also loved playing school with all my stuffed animals and little sister.
Do you have pets? How many and what kind?
I have 3 Mini-Schnauzers that I adore named Jackson, Heidi, and Brutus Max. I wish they could follow me to school every day just like Mary!
What advice do you have for the Clara Love students?
My advice to my students is to always try your best, have a positive attitude even when it’s hard, and always choose the right choices with the right kind of friends.
**Thank you Mrs. Abrams for participating in the Clara Love PTA Spotlight!!
