Clara Love Elementary First Grade Teacher

Tell us something about yourself?

This is my 6th year teaching first grade, and I love it! I went to Texas A&M University, whoop! I love boston terriers, basset hounds, sushi, and live music.


What dreams do you have for the future?

I would love to get my master’s in reading.


Who was your role model when you were a kid and why?

My Maw Maw was a kindergarten teacher, and I always looked up to her. She would let me come to her school a couple of afternoons a week when I was a kid. I would help her clean up and get ready for the next day. I always thought that was really special.


When you were in elementary school did you have a favorite subject?

I loved to write and read!


Do you have pets?

How many and what kind? I have a Boston Terrier named Ollie, a Basset Hound named Rory, and a cat named Lionel.


What advice do you have for the Clara Love students?

Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. You will face things each day that may seem hard or overwhelming. This is exciting! The only way to learn and grow is to challenge yourself each day. You will be proud of the person you are.
