PRESENTING...

Mrs. Sara Wolfe

Clara Love Elementary Kindergarten Teacher

Tell us something about yourself?

This is my 10th year teaching and every year I love it more and more.  I am a newlywed and met my wonderful husband in the drum and bugle corps we both perform in, the Vigilantes.  I play the mellophone (marching French horn) in our corps and also am in the color guard where we spin flags.  I also play the concert French Horn in our church orchestra.

What dreams do you have for the future?

I am really excited about where my career may be heading.  I am involved in the mentoring organization of our district and hope to be on the ground floor of strengthening and developing that department.

Do you have a favorite quote?

"Tell me and I'll forget. Show me, and I may not remember. Involve me, and I'll understand."

Who was your role model when you were a kid and why?

When I was younger, the person I most looked up to was my 5th grade music teacher.  She was the one who first lit my fire for the love of music.  If it were not for the teacher who believed in me and pushed me to see what I could do, I would not be the musician that I am today.

When you were in elementary school did you have a favorite subject?

My favorite subject has always been music.  There are so many skills involved in music and I because of that I work hard to incorporate music into my students’ daily routine here at Clara Love.  With the math, memorization, and rhythmic skills involved, music involves both sides of the brain and can only enhance the learning occurring in my classroom.

Do you have pets? How many and what kind?

I have 3 pets.  A black lab named Scarlett.  A mixed breed dog named Amber.  And a cat named Violet.

What advice do you have for the Clara Love students?

Never give up on your dreams.  If you want something bad enough and are willing to work hard enough, then you can achieve it.  Have faith in yourself and believe that you can accomplish anything that you set your mind to.
